A Safe Campus For Nut, Seed & Egg Allergy Pupils

Edinburgh Steiner School's Severe Allergy Policy (2021) was approved in the last School session. This will now be accompanied by signage around the campus. Please look out for these signs in specific buildings and classrooms, which outline the ingredients not to enter the space.

Welcoming Many New Families To The School

Edinburgh Steiner School is joined by 50 new pupils from the start of the new academic year, into the School (22) and Early Years (28), bringing our roll at the beginning of this new academic year to 274.

Nine more pupils are due to start later in the Autumn term; and many prospective families are signing up for our individual family tours each week.

Most enquiries come from people who have been recommended our school by a current or former ESS family. Thank you.

Individual Family Open Tours In High Demand

Edinburgh Steiner School is welcoming many prospective families on to campus after school hours each week, whilst our Open Tours are on hold.

These tours have been very busy through the summer and into the new academic year, showing the wonderful interest in our holistic education following the experiences of home schooling and the pandemic.

Win £1,000 of book tokens for an awesome young adult!

Nominate a young person 16 - 24 years old (or yourself) to win £1,000 of National Book Tokens. These tokens can buy all the fiction, travel guides, non-fiction, cookery books, and academic texts a young person needs. If you win, not only will their reading list be sorted, you'll also get a £50 National Book Token for yourself to say thanks (although we're sure they'll remember to do that, too). To nominate a young person, simply complete the National Books Tokens form

Competition opened on Wednesday 1st September. More importantly, Closing date is Sunday 31st October 2021.

Non-readers are 28% more likely to report feelings of depression, so National Book Tokens will also donate £250 to Young Minds, the leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health.

West Coach House Roof, Doors & Windows Removed

Hutton & Read are well underway restoring the West Coach House (formerly the Chemistry Lab). The original Scotch slates have been removed by hand, conserved for future reuse on the roof; and the walls of the 19th Century building continue to be stripped back to bare stone before the building begins.

Phase Two of our campus development plan started during the summer holidays, creating more curriculum space. To read more about the School's ambitious campus development project, visit: Growing Spaces

Free Packing Boxes For A Mover

I have just moved house and have a large quantity of packing boxes flattened and 9 rolls of parcel tape and wondered if anyone else in the school community was moving and thus wanted these? They were new from Lens Storage so only been used once and are packing boxes and archive boxes (with lids) all flattened. I can't deliver as I don't drive, I'm in EH5. They are for free. Sincerely, Kate Christmas
